There are five generation of computers. The described of different generation of computers are given bellow:-
First generation (1942-1955):

memory;

magnetic drum;

execute by coding;

in use of power , troubleshoot and maintence.
Second generation
(1955-1964):
· Circuit
board used to making the modular design;
· More
reliable and maximum capacity;
· Used
transistor;
· Magnetic
core used to make memory;
· Uses
different high level language.
Third generation (1964-1975):
· Uses
magnetic tape, Hard disk memory;
· Uses
V.D.U and printer;
· More
integrated circuits;
· More
reliable and effective in processing;
· Uses
package programming;
· Development
of operating systems.
Fourth generation (19751989):
· Uses
of LSI and VLSI chip;
· Very
small in size;
· Uses
big memory capacity;
· High
speed processor;
· Developed
software;
· Using
telecommunications;
· LAN,WAN
for data communications.
